Who doesn’t love a little pampering, right? Everyday thousands of men and women head to local beauty salons for treatments to help with their appearance and comfort. Unfortunately for Stacey Wilson – and too many other clients of various salons – poor hygiene practices can lead to some really painful results.
As reported by ABC Channel 7 KATV, Stacey Wilson went to a local nail salon for a routine pedicure. During the treatment the worker was overly aggressive with a pumice stone, twice cutting her foot. Apparently the stone had not been properly sanitized, leading to a cellulitis infection and a trip to the ER.
Wilson was in her hospital bed when she saw an investigative report on Channel 7 news looking into unclean nail salons. She promptly contacted the news station to report her story.
While tragic, this story highlights the need for practitioners to employ and enforce strict hygienic standards. At Step By Step the processes and equipment for our Medical Pedicures follow or exceed medical standards and best practices to ensure that our clients are always treated in a professional, safe, healthy, and secure environment.
