SOCKtober Charity Drive
It’s back! Our extremely popular SOCKtober charity drive is here again. Did you know that socks are one of the most needed items by people who are homeless in Toronto? Good quality socks have a significant effect in helping to maintain warmth and health during the colder months in our city.
Once again we are using the SOCKtober drive to support our friends at Good Shepherd Ministries. When you bring in a new pair of socks to donate at the Step By Step clinic you will receive a $25 credit toward the purchase of any of our high-quality orthopedic footwear (full details in the clinic). At the end of the month we’ll deliver all the collected socks to Good Shepherd, and one person will be selected by random draw to receive a grand prize.
Meet Good Shepherd Ministries
Good Shepherd Ministries cares for Toronto’s homeless population with a variety of services. Aside from overnight shelter, meals, and clothing, their Resettlement Program works to help clients find suitable long-term housing and create a plan to cope with their unique challenges.
Good Shepherd offers a DARE program to help fight addiction, medical clinic, and specialized pastoral care. The Barrett House location supports people living with HIV/AIDS, and the St. Joseph’s Residence cares for seniors with a history of homelessness.
