Sterilization procedures are rigorously followed every day . We never want to risk cross-contamination!
- All instruments are high quality stainless steel, which is suitable to be high level disinfected and sterilized.
- After a sterile package is opened for use, the instruments are collected in a separate “dirty” bin for re-sterilization.
- Daily, all the used instruments are deposited and disinfected in the Miele Professional Washer-Disinfector G 7881. They are washed and thermally disinfected at 93°C/200°F. This high-level disinfection is very effective at inactivating any mycobacteria, fungi, fungal spores and viruses
- Disinfected tools are sealed into sterilization pouches for sterilization in the Miele Professional Steam-Sterilizer PS 1201B.
- Before the first load is sterilized in the Miele Professional Steam-Sterilizer PS 1201B, a ProCare ZS 150-1 Helix-Test indicator strip is processed to ensure there is sufficient steam saturation at 134°C for 5 minutes. This certifies the sterilizer is working at optimum levels.
- After it is ensured that the Helix Strip indicates the correct colour, the prepared instrument pouches are correctly loaded in the autoclave with an Attest 1292 Rapid Readout Biological Indicator.
- The 3M Attest 1292 Rapid Readout Biological Indicator monitors the sterilization process to ensure that no micro-organisms like Geobacillus stearothermophilus exist after the sterilization cycle.
- After the sterilization cycle is completed, the indicator is removed from the sterilizer. The indicator is placed in the 3M Attest Auto-reader 390 for an incubation cycle of three hours. During the Attest incubation cycle, the instruments are quarantined until the indicator is proven negative.
- Only at this time are the instruments released for use on clients.
- All test strips and indicators are correctly documented and kept for our records.
- All stages of sterilization are electronically recorded for documentation.
- If there is any interruption in any part of the process and the procedure stops, Miele Customer Service is contacted immediately. Within twenty-four hours, the issue is resolved by qualified Miele Technicians. We have enough sterile instruments to go three days without sterilizing if need be.
